Engineering Kit Rev2 Description:

Arduino Engineering Kit Rev2 is a versatile, hands-on learning tool that demonstrates key concepts in control systems, basic mechatronics, and programming in MATLAB® and Simulink®. Projects cover the fundamentals of model-based design, control systems, image processing, robotics, signal processing and more - and they're fun!  The kit includes all the physical components you need, as well as tutorials and software, to build three projects: a self-balancing motorbike, a webcam-controlled explorer robot and a drawing robot. The kit includes a step-by-step online tutorial, making it ideal for students working in small groups or for organising distance learning.

The kit is primarily intended for three types of users: mechatronics students, teachers looking for practical resources to support their classes, and makers interested in robotics or involved in it professionally or as a hobby.

Main features of the engineering kit:

  • A kit dedicated to engineering students and teachers who need hands-on materials to demonstrate concepts related to mechatronics.
  • It includes the physical components and software needed to complete 3 projects in systems modelling, control theory, robotics and mechatronics, and image processing.
  • With step-by-step instructions, you will build a self-balancing motorbike, a webcam-controlled rover and a robot capable of drawing.
  • The licence includes one year's use of MATLAB and Simulink for one person.
  • Online tips and web-based learning materials allow for distance learning.

Engineering kit course structure:

The Engineering Kit Rev2 course content is divided into 6 chapters, which can be followed in any order.

It is recommended to start with chapter 4. The kit covers the following topics

  • Mechatronics: DC motor, servos, encoders, motor controllers, PWM signals, etc.
  • Model-based design
  • Control theory: control of incomplete discharges
  • Image and signal processing
  • Data: visualisation and analysis
  • Physics and applied mathematics
  • Textual programming with MATLAB
  • Visual programming with Simulink

Contents of the engineering kit:

The kit includes several custom parts, a complete set of electronics and all the mechanical components needed to assemble each project (a webcam-controlled rover, a self-balancing motorbike and a drawing robot).

  • Arduino Nano 33 IoT
