Arduino Nano Series

Thanks to their tiny format, the Nano boards are perfect for compact projects like wearable devices. The new Nano family, moreover, offers also castellated pins, that enable users to mount the boards as modules on a larger PCB design.  The new Nano family boards are compatible with the classic Nano board, but are based on the more powerful Arm Cortex processors. Moreover, the Nano 33 IoT, Nano 33 BLE and Nano 33 BLE Sense add options  with on-board sensors, wifi, bluetooth, and powerful 32-bit MCUs which open up applications like Machine Learning.

Arduino Nano Every

Arduino has decided to further develop its catchy Nano project in the direction of more power. Nano Every is the simplest of the new series as it doesn´t include any sensors nor connectivity solution, however still significantly more powerful than standard Nano (50% more program memory and 2 times more RAM). Above characteristics make it perfect for projects of small devices with more advanced functionalities, such as audio processing or robotics.

Arduino Nano 33 Ble

Nano was already a great invention and a super facilitator of many projects, but with Nano BLE opens yet another set of opportunities. First of all, the BLE module - the newest and lowest energy consumption connectivity solution, which effectively allows you to leverage the same technology as used in the newest mass-produced electronic devices

Arduino Nano 33 Ble Sense rev2

On top of all the upgrades presented in Nano BLE (64 MHz clock, 1Mb flash memory, 256Kb SRAM) Nano BLE Sense Rev2 brings basic sensors to the table. It is truly impressive how Arduino team managed to fit those on such a small factor, nonetheless they did and did so for 5 basic modules.

In the package, you get 9 axis IMU, humidity and temperature sensor, barometric sensor, microphone and vision sensor (gesture, proximity, color and light intensity). Such a set together with TensorFlow compatibility enables basic machine learning functionalities straight after taking the board out of the box.

Arduino Nano Family

Arduino Nano is an emblematic board with thousands of projects supported ranging from wearables up to drones and many others. All thanks to its size and relative power. Given that, the world inevitably goes in the direction of interconnectiveness and IoT, Arduino team decided to further develop the Nano family to enable connectivity solutions. And that is how we got to the series of 4 new boards - Nano Every, Nano IoT, Nano BLE y Nano BLE Sense. Each one of them is significantly more powerful than the old Nano and for BLE and BLE Sense even more powerful than any basic Arduino board. They weigh 5g and can be purchased with or without headers, which enables easy implementation in wearable projects and stacking on other boards. If you are looking to get into IoT, these are exactly the boards you should be looking at. What is important, is that all boards except for Every have already well-developed library resources for numerous applications (inheriting some of them from older boards as in case of Nano IoT, the MKR series). All Nano series is pin compatible.

BLE technology used by Arduino Nano

Arduino Nano BLE boards support BLE technology enabling Bluetooth connectivity with low energy consumption. Both of them are in the newest Bluetooth 5.0 protocol used by the most advanced mass-market electronics solutions. Nonetheless as Bluetooth is backwards compatible they support devices in earlier standards as well. Additionally, Bluetooth 5.0 offers larger range (up to 240 meters from 60) and speed (up to 2 Mbps) than older 4.2 Bluetooth solutions (as offered by ESP32 for example).

Arduino Cloud

Arduino Nano IoT on top of the bluetooth solution offers as well WiFi connection, which effectively enables the new software development of Arduino, i.e. Arduino Cloud. It provides an easy inteface for connection of all of your Arduino devices equipped with WiFi and as all Arduino solutions is characterized by significant simplicity and ease of use.
