This module adapted for the arduino is a unipolar Ic Hall effect magnetic sensor. The Hall effect is when a current passes through a bar of semiconductor (or conductive) material, and if an induction magnetic field B is applied perpendicular to the direction of current flow, a voltage, called Hall voltage, proportional to the magnetic field, and the current appears on the faces sides of the bar.
