The module is equipped with an electret microphone with a sensitivity in the range of 20-20 kHz and the amplification is used in the Maxim MAX4466 integrated circuit, an operational amplifier specially designed for use as a microphone preamplifier.

he module works best for projects such as audio recording / sampling and audio response projects that use FFT. On the other side of the board there is a small potentiometer for adjusting the gain. You can set the gain from 25x to 125x. voltage levels from about 200 mVpp to about 1 Vpp, ideal for reading from the microcontroller ADC. The output is rail to rail, so if the sounds get loud, the output can go up to 5Vpp!

Using it is simple: connect GND to ground, VCC to 2.4-5VDC. For best performance, a power supply is recommended (for Arduino it would be 3.3V).

The output pin is not designed to connect to speakers or anything other than the smallest in-ear headphones. If you want to connect the amplifier directly to the speakers, you will need an audio amplifier (you will find a 3.7 W stereo amplifier in our offer). If you connect to the microcontroller pin, you don't need an amplifier or decoupling capacitor; connect the OUT pin directly to the ADC pin of the microcontroller.
