This SparkFun CO2, humidity and temperature sensor incorporates Sensirion's new generation of SCD40 photoacoustic CO2 sensors for highly accurate environmental readings. The sensor is capable of detecting concentrations from 0 to 40000 ppm with high precision above 400-2000 ppm ±(50 ppm+5%). The SCD40 has an integrated CMos® temperature and humidity sensor for greater precision.
This SparkFun CO2 humidity and temperature sensor incorporates Sensirion's new generation SCD40 photoacoustic CO2 sensor for highly accurate environmental readings. The SCD40 uses the PASens® photoacoustic measurement system, which combines narrowband infrared light and a microphone in a sensor package capable of detecting concentrations from 0-40000 ppm with high accuracy above 400-2000 ppm ±(50 ppm+5%). The SCD40 has an integrated CMos® temperature and humidity sensor for increased accuracy.
For added accuracy, the SCD40 also accepts ambient pressure readings. All of these features are available in a standard 1 inch x 1 inch Qwiic enclosure for seamless integration into Qwiic-based projects. However, we have also derived the I2C signals on a set of 0.1-inch spaced pins for users who prefer a soldered connection.
The SCD40 includes an automatic self-calibration routine that allows the sensor to be calibrated within seven days. For best results, Sensirion recommends continuous readings for at least one hour of "fresh air" per day to complete the calibration period.
