This module is a voltage regulator that creates an output voltage of 5V with a maximum current of 800mA. The integrated regulator is referenced AMS1117.
The module has two two point connectors for quick connection. Converter module AMS1117 Buck fixed output 5V 800mA features:

In the case of a battery pack, the BMS (Battery Management System) balancing protection circuit allows charging and discharging to be individually controlled.
