The BME280 is an environmental sensor that integrates a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor and a barometer. The sensor is of high accuracy, multiple functions, and small size, etc. It provides SPI and I2C interfaces, which facilitates rapid prototyping. It can be widely used in environmental monitoring, history height measurement and Internet of Things (IoT) control and so on.
The BME280 Gravity I2C environmental sensor is based on the latest MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) sensor from BoSCH. It is very stable compared to other type of sensors, especially the air pressure measurement, the temperature coefficient of displacement is ±1.5 Pa/K, equiv. to ±12.6 cm at 1 °C temperature change. Therefore, the stability and multi-functionality make the BME280 a good choice in many scenarios.
