SparkFun IoT RedBoard development board compatible with Arduino. It incorporates an ESP32 chip with a 32-bit dual-core Xtensa LX6 microprocessor with a clock frequency of up to 240 MHz. It enables WiFi and Bluetooth wireless communication, making it versatile for Smart Home and IoT projects.
The SparkFun IoT RedBoard is an ESP32 development board that includes everything but the kitchen sink. Espressif's ESP32 WROOM is a powerful WiFi and Bluetooth® MCU module that addresses a wide variety of applications. At the core of this module is the ESP32-D0WDQ6 chip, designed to be scalable and adaptable. The IoT RedBoard can address a wide variety of applications, from low-power sensor networks to the most demanding tasks, such as voice encoding, music streaming and MP3 decoding. The IoT ReadBoard also uses our convenient Qwiic connection system, which means no soldering or shielding is required to connect it to the rest of the system.
USB to serial is achieved with a USB-C connector with pass-through anchor and the ubiquitous CH340G, which requires fewer driver installations. We've included 3.3V voltage translation and a Qwiic connector on the edge of the board to enable fast and seamless connection to our growing line of I2C-based Qwiic products. The board even includes a microSD socket if your application requires recording and saving data to a memory card. For remote power, we've included a 2-pin JST connector for connecting a single-cell LiPo battery. There is also an integrated LiPo charging IC (MCP73831) and a fuel gauge (MAX17048).
The operating system is FreeRTOS with LwIP; it also incorporates TLS 1.2 with hardware acceleration. It also supports secure (encrypted) over-the-air (OTA) updates, so users can update their products even after launch with minimal cost and effort.
