The Spectrum Digital XDS100v2 is the second generation of the XDS100 family of debug probes (emulators) for IT processors.
The XDS100 family presents the lowest cost of the entire XDS family of debug probes while supporting the traditional JTAG standard (IEEE1149.1).
In addition, all XDS debug probes support Core and System Trace on all ARM and DSP processors that have an Embedded Trace Buffer (ETB). The Spectrum Digital XDS100v2 connects to the target board via a 14-pin TI connector and to the computer via high-speed USB 2.0 (480 Mbps).
It also requires a license of Code Composer Studio „¢ IDE running on the computer.

What to take into consideration when selecting a development board to begin with?

Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi? Maybe Orange or Banana? Variety is blessing in disguise, as it can bring more confusion than benefits. There are several approaches to selecting the development board, but the one we are the most bound to is to look at the availability of materials first. This goes hand in hand with popularity of the board or system you want to play with. And as such Arduino (and Arduino compatible) boards are one of the best covered in the Internet, similarly to Raspberry. Obviously, original parts and components always come better equipped as you will have libraries developed by the producer together with guides and tutorials, which make life significantly easier. However, if you want to charter into new territories some of the less popular boards can have a lot to offer. Advanced functional boards

Obviously, the answer to the above question changes slightly, when you are a most advanced programmer and look to extend you possibilities to more complex system.
