Raspberry Pi 3

The designers of Raspberry Pi minicomputers are very active and every year they bring us new improvements to their boards and modules. This progress has been particularly visible in the last three years, when the third generation "Raspberry" entered the market, which, it seems, evolved directly from the RPi Model B V1.2 version. Interestingly, the RPi B V1.2 version appeared on sale a few months after the release of the 3B model, although it cannot be denied that these versions are technologically very similar (to the point that it is difficult to know which one to enter first for testing).

SparkFun Pi Servo HAT - Obsolete

16 servo motors with one board seems impossible? With this board not only it isn´t impossible, but it even seems easy. Additionally, you won´t need to sacrifice any of your valuable GPIOs as the HAT connects directly via I2C. Additionally, you have a serial terminal connection at your disposal.

You can supply the power to the board through your Pi or directly if you are going for larger servos and would need a separate source of power. Simply scrap a small blob of solder on the isolation jumper.

SparkFun Pi AVR Programmer HAT - OBSOLETE

You are looking for an easy way to program a microcontroller in your Arduino. It has never been easier - with this board you can do it in the record speed with support or Raspberry (or without for that matter, as the HAT works on the standalone basis as well). It was first developed as an in-house solution for Sparkfun production, and for its quality and usefulness ended up in mass production with a solid fan following.

The board includes several handy features ranging from the capacitive touch button for a standalone mode to launch programming, LEDs indicating the status of the program upload as well as some whiteboard labels to keep track of your projects.

SparkFun Qwiic pHAT v2.0 for Raspberry Pi

QWIIC is a connection standard developed by Sparkfun enabling a quick an easy connection of peripherals without a need to solder pins, without any mismatches due to polarized connector. And on top of that you can "daisy chain" them!

This hat pretty much opens the whole QWIIC universe in front of your Pi. It features 4 QWIIC ports all on the same I2C bus (GND, 3.3V, SDA, and SCL).

A universal  2x20 GPIO makes it compatible with all Raspberry Pi boards, as well as Google Coral and Jetson Nano.

Note:  For a secure connection in some applications, you'll need to add a pair of 1x20 stackable headers to extend the pins to your cart.

SparkFun MEMS Microphone Breakout - INMP401 (ADMP401) - obsolete

Ever needed a microphone for your project. This tiny little board will fulfill all your needs - it is not only mobile, but as well easy to connect. A low power, efficient, omnidirectional AMP401 microphone has an analog output. It works great for near and long range uses and is particularly suitable for a mobile projects given its extremely low energy consumption. You can use it in a range of applications - we can see it used in smartphones, cameras or electronic nannies.

SparkFun Qwiic HAT for Raspberry Pi

The Qwiic HAT is an absolute basic of Qwiic system for Raspberry. It enables a quick and efficient connection of an sensor to your Raspberry over I2C bus (GND, 3.3 V, SDA and SCL). As Qwiic enables daisy chaining of components, you can pretty much install as many sensors on the Qwiic HAT as you want. On top of that it fits perfectly Pi Tin enclosure from SparkFun enabling connection while in case.

Raspberry Pi 3 - version development

Raspberry Pi 3 followed the standard development of several revisions for the series that Cambridge developers have got us used to. The first version was followed by B+ upgrade. As a separate format A, with smaller dimensions and slightly deleveraged in terms of performance, came with an upgrade as well (A+ version). All in all, you can rest assured that no matter which board you chose, as with all Raspberry products, it will definitely live up to your expectations. The only potential drawback you have to consider is the power consumption that comes as a cost of increased performance with every new board. Nonetheless, what for do we have our wide array of boxes and ventilation systems!

Raspberry Pi 3 accessories

Raspberry without accessories is like a bird without wings. If you are on a search for new gadgets, with Raspberry Pi 3 you should definitely consider a range of boxes and ventilation solutions we cover. As always with Raspberry, another important element to set off your projects is the screen and camera. Expect soon as well introductions of new sensor sets in our offer!

Connectivity enablement

Connectivity increasingly becomes the name of the game for the development boards and minicomputers. To take your projects to the next stage and make them even more useful you simply need to have a way to connect with them wirelessly. No IoT application will go without it. In this aspect, Raspberry Pi 3 truly brought a significant upgrade. First of all, WiFi connectivity enables remote control of the whole systems from pretty much anyplace. BCM43438 chip provides b/g/n WiFi (b/g/n are protocol descriptions for 802.11 communication standard that respond to different transmission speeds and frequencies, b being the most basic - 11Mb/s and reach of ~100m with the frequency of 2.4GHz - and n the fastest (up to 100Mb/s). Additionally, Low Energy Bluetooth enables IoT uses as beacons and other devices. Check our blog to find more information!
